Baddazis formed in Lima, Peru in 2003 with Manuel Sanguinetti on vocals, Fernando Vargas on guitar, Hernán Neyra on bass, and Carlos Espinoza on drums. Their name came from a Peruvian term for troublemakers, which fit their early reputation. They had some financial struggles in those first years, but kept playing.
Their debut album 'Alma Mata' came out in 2008, and the title track became a hit in Peru. That record helped them start touring in Latin America and Europe. Their live shows were known for being energetic, and they developed a following outside Peru.
Later albums like 'Negro' from 2011 and 'Sombrero Verde' from 2016 showed them working with different sounds, moving from blues influences toward more experimental territory. Songs like 'Country Blood' and 'If You (With All)' came from this period of their work.
