Badesalz

Badesalz was a Berlin electroclash duo active in the late 1990s and early 2000s, made up of Marko Wutzke and Steffen Berkhahn. Their sound leaned on minimal electronic beats and direct, sometimes provocative lyrics. The track 'Alles Gute' from 2001 became their breakout, catching attention with its straightforward melody and a tone that resonated with a certain disaffected crowd at the time.

They put out three studio albums between 2001 and 2004, starting with 'Einkaufswagen Zurück'. Their live shows sometimes involved drag and an unapologetic stage presence, which along with their lyrical content, drew criticism and occasional censorship. Wutzke, who often performed as Mark E, handled most of the vocals with a distinctive falsetto.

Other songs like 'Bali Mach Uff' and 'Sommerei' rounded out their catalog, which had a raw, collage-like quality pulling from electronic music and punk attitudes. The duo developed a cult following in Berlin's underground scene before their activity trailed off after the mid-2000s.
