Badi

Badi formed in Paris around the mid-2000s as a trio with Aude on vocals, Clémence on drums, and Tristan on guitar. Their debut album "Mauvaise Ambiance" came out in 2007, giving the band its first proper introduction with that title track and others like "The Departure" and "Aint Sayin Nothin." The music leaned into distorted guitars and Aude's direct vocal delivery, which some listeners found uncomfortably honest.

Lyrics often dealt with depression and anxiety, written mostly by Aude in a blunt, unadorned style. This drew criticism from some quarters for being too bleak, while others appreciated the lack of pretense. The band kept releasing albums every few years, including "Posologie" in 2010 and "En Sortant de l'Usine" in 2014, without dramatically shifting from that core approach.

Later songs like "Be Ok" and "Fate Of The World" continued in similar territory, examining personal and societal unease over steady, driving rhythms. Badi's catalog built up gradually rather than through sudden breakthroughs, maintaining a consistent voice through the 2010s with records like 2018's "Les autres C'est Nous."
