Badú formed in Cartagena, Colombia in 2016 around vocalist Goyo Martínez, guitarist Pipe Bravo, and bassist Tostao. Their music draws from Afro-Colombian traditions, mixing in salsa, reggae, and hip-hop elements. The song "Bailas" became their breakout track, a dance floor anthem that helped define their sound.
They released their self-titled debut album in 2017, which included "Bailas" along with other songs like "Sin Mi" and "Mi Rendición." A second album called "Tundá" followed in 2020. Their live shows have taken them to festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury.
Their music continues to reflect their Cartagena roots while reaching international audiences with songs like "Capa da Costela" and "Destino."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
