Archive material and source history

Badzyn came out of Rio de Janeiro in the early 1990s, mixing hip-hop, reggae, and rock. Their first album, "Raio X do Brasil," came out in 1994. The band was led by vocalist and lyricist O Rappa, with Marcelo Yuka on drums, Xandão on bass, Lauro Farias on guitar, and Fabio Luciano on keyboards.

In 1999, they released the album "Lado B Lado A," which included the song "Poesias e Tiros." The track became well-known for its lyrics about urban life. Another song from their catalog is "Travessuras." Their lyrics often dealt with social issues, which sometimes drew criticism.

They put out several other albums, including "Rappa Mundi" in 1996, "Acústico MTV" in 2000, "O Silêncio Q Precede o Esporro" in 2003, "Sete Vezes" in 2008, and "Nunca Tem Fim..." in 2013.
