Baila Baila formed in Havana with members including lead vocalist Mario Ernesto Pérez "Mayito," female vocalist Edeliys Vargas "Dely," percussionist Adonis Puentes "El Piti," and keyboardist Pavel Urkiza. Their 2005 album Vuela, Vuela gave them a breakthrough with its title track becoming a widely recognized song.
They released several albums through the late 2000s and early 2010s, including Baila Baila in 2007, Pasión in 2009, and De Cuba a México in 2011. Other songs like Morena and El Baile Del Oso became part of their catalog of Cuban dance music.
In Cuba, some initially dismissed their music as too commercial, but they developed an international following with performances at festivals abroad.
