Bajo Sueños formed in Miami in 1996, with singer-songwriter Juan Carlos Pérez, guitarist Felipe Gonçalves, and drummer Andrés Torres. They started by playing live shows and putting out their own EPs before an independent label picked them up around 2000. Their first album was called 'Sueños Bajo La Lluvia.'
Their second album, 'Esta Noche,' came out in 2002 and gave them their biggest song, the ballad 'Esta Noche.' Other tracks like 'La Silueta de Tu Sombra' and 'Como Olvidarte' are also among their most recognized. The band kept recording after that, with albums like 'Infinito' in 2008 and 'Renacer' in 2018.
In 2005, Pérez faced plagiarism accusations over 'Esta Noche,' but the charges were dropped. The trio of Pérez, Gonçalves, and Torres has stayed together as the core of the band.
