Balanço do Tchê

Balanço do Tchê came together in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, with Márcio Victor on vocals, Toninho on bass, Renato on drums, Jhonatan on accordion, Felipe on guitar, and Anderson handling vocals and rhythm guitar. Their first album, A Cor da Bandeira, came out in 2001 and gave them a national audience. The title track, 'A cor da bandeira,' became something of an anthem, and they followed it with songs like 'Penélope' and 'Se liga meu.'

They kept recording through the 2000s, putting out albums like Tô Dormindo Até Mais Tarde in 2004 and Nosso Balanço in 2006. A decade in, they marked the occasion with Balanço do Tchê: 10 Anos in 2011. By 2017, they were calling a release A Nova Geração.

Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism, and in 2019, playing a political rally sparked some debate. But their sound, built around that accordion and rhythms like vanerão, kept drawing crowds to songs such as 'Vanerão pra nega véia' and 'Festa da mulherada.'
