Balanço Novo Sertanejo formed in the 1990s, bringing together Alceu Valença on vocals, Germano Mathias on guitar, Paulinho Leme on bass, and Tony Campelo on drums. Their approach mixed traditional sertanejo with rock, pop, and samba elements, which didn't always sit well with purists of the genre.
Their 1994 debut album included the track 'Amar o Amor,' and they followed it with a live recording from Salvador two years later. By 1999's 'Dias de Luz,' they were working with more introspective material alongside their earlier, groove-driven sound.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
