Balé Dinossauro formed in São Paulo in 1982 with Sérgio Britto on vocals and guitar, Fernando Magalhães on bass, Rodrigo Santos on guitar, and André Jung on drums. They put out their first album in 1987.
Their 1988 song 'Corpo e Alma' got some attention for lyrics that were considered too explicit by some conservative critics at the time. The band released a few more albums through the early 1990s, including 'Balé Dinossauro III' in 1989 and 'Pra Todo Mundo' in 1991.
They recorded an acoustic session for MTV in 2002.
