Banana

Banana formed in Los Angeles in the late 1970s, a four-piece band with a taste for rock and pop mixed with something a little off-kilter. Their debut album 'Peel Away the Layers' came out in 1982, and it included the song 'I'm Banana,' which caught on with its simple, catchy hook and lighthearted lyrics.

That track became their calling card, but not everyone was charmed. Some critics dismissed them as too silly, and their material sometimes ran into censorship issues in certain places. They kept putting out records through the '80s and '90s, with another notable track being 'Bodando na Festinha.'

Behind the scenes, things weren't always smooth. There were reports of creative disagreements and personal friction within the group, which made for a rocky stretch. They managed to work through it and stay active, but the band's story has those ordinary bumps you often find when people make music together for a long time.
