Bananafishbones

Bananafishbones formed in Los Angeles in the early 1980s with Bryan Ottoson on vocals, Mike Stand on guitar, Scott Johnson on bass, and Austin de Lone on drums. They put out their first album in 1985, which included the track 'A Gentleman's Excuse Me' that became something of a calling card for them.

Their shows sometimes ran into trouble with local authorities, like when police stopped a New Year's Eve performance in Atlanta in 1984. They kept recording through the late '80s and early '90s, with albums like 'Pissed Off and Proud' and 'Comfort Stand' following their debut.

Songs like 'Alles Ist Gut' and 'Dark Clouds' show the mix of punk energy and more reflective writing that defined their work. The band went on indefinite hiatus in 2005 after about two decades of playing together.
