Archive material and source history

Band Geeks were a group from Bikini Bottom that put out a few records in the late '90s and early 2000s, including 'Sweet Victory' in 1997, 'Bikini Bottom Blues' in 1998, and 'Goo Lagoon Grooves' in 2000. Their lineup had Squidward Tentacles on clarinet, SpongeBob SquarePants on drums, Patrick Star on tambourine, Sandy Cheeks on electric guitar, Mr. Krabs on saxophone, and Mrs. Puff as conductor.

They're best known for 'Sweet Victory,' which became a viral hit after their performance at the Bubble Bowl. Other songs in their catalog include 'Tap Tap Hae,' 'Hold It Down,' 'Officially Missing You,' and 'Suffocating.'

After 'Sweet Victory' took off, the band got tangled in some legal disputes over the rights to the song. That, along with some creative differences within the group, made things complicated for a while.
