Band Goodbye formed in Oslo in the early 2000s as a Norwegian indie rock group. Their debut album, 'Up The Ladder To The Roof,' came out in 2002 and gave them their first real attention. The band included Vilde Bye on lead vocals and guitar, Sveinung Erik Larsen on guitar, Ola Djupvik on bass, and Sondre Lerche on drums.
They followed that with 'Black Eyed Sun' in 2004 and 'Shelter' in 2007, records that kept to their atmospheric, melodic style. Later albums like 'Nobody's Home' and 'The River' showed them trying different approaches, from more experimental work to acoustic tracks.
In 2006, there was some noise about the song 'Up The Ladder To The Roof' and whether its melody was borrowed from an older Italian pop tune. Nothing was ever proven, but it was a distraction for a while. They kept putting out music through the 2010s, with songs like 'Whose Side Are You On?' and 'Wind Beneath My Wings' appearing in their catalog.
