A Brazilian forró band from Fortaleza that broke through nationally with "Eita Forrozão, Vixe Forrozim" in the late 1990s.
For their sound, start with "Eita Forrozão, Vixe Forrozim." For their later catalog, "Amor Infinito" gives you a good feel.
They took the forró sound of Brazil's Northeast and gave it a national platform. Their 1998 track "Eita Forrozão, Vixe Forrozim" was the breakout, and songs like "Amor Infinito" and "Porquê Mentes Assim?" kept their catalog moving. The band also became part of a notable legal story when a former accordionist successfully sued over writing credits for that hit.
They formed in Fortaleza in the mid-1990s with vocalists Fábio Almeida and Bruno Mota. After "Eita Forrozão, Vixe Forrozim" hit in 1998, they released albums like Forró do Agitão and Chega Mais. The 2004 lawsuit from former accordionist Valdimir de Sousa over that song's credits added a complicated chapter.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
