Banda Agitaê formed in Fortaleza, Ceará in 2006, with Washington Reis on vocals and Marquinhos Batista on accordion. Their debut album 'Pra Cima, Agitaê!' came out the following year. In 2009 they released 'Agitaê na Balada,' which included the track 'Solteiro Na Night.'
A fire destroyed their equipment in 2008, but they kept going. Their fourth album 'Pra Valer' arrived in 2014. The band plays forró, a Brazilian rhythm known for its danceable energy.
