The original lineup included Sergio Lizárraga as musical director and lead vocalist, with Jaime Ortega on accordion, José Ángel Ledezma on tuba, Jesús Lizárraga as vocalist, and Antonio Lizárraga on bass. They've released over twenty studio albums, including 'El Hijo del Desierto' in 1998 and 'Alegre de Más' in 2000.
Their song 'Alegre de Más' became a major hit in Mexico. Other tracks like 'Angel de La Mañana' and 'El Viejón' show their norteño and banda style. They recorded a live album at the Auditorio Nacional in 2002.
More recently, there have been allegations about drug use and organized crime connections.
