Their music often addressed social issues like poverty and inequality, which sometimes put them at odds with more conservative elements. In 2004, they faced legal trouble when the government accused them of inciting violence through their lyrics. The charges were eventually dismissed.
They released another album called 'Eu Quero Justiça' in 2002. Their sound drew from Brazilian styles like forró and axé, mixed with rock elements.
