The group includes vocalists Javier "El Chino" González, José "El Coyote" Navarro, Pablo "El Flaco" Borrego, and José "El Chicles" Brizuela, with Juan "El Perro" Pablo Romero on drums, Carlos "El Chapete" Ochoa on accordion, and Orlando "El Güero" Montes on bass.
Their music pulls from banda rhythms and street-level hip-hop, with lyrics that touch on love, friendship, and working-class life. They put out albums like "Los Tres Amigos" in 2015, "El Corral" in 2016, and "Caldeirão" in 2017. The live version of "Caldeirão" became one of their better-known tracks.
In 2019, several members were arrested after a physical altercation with another band. Banda ALV has also faced criticism over lyrics some see as promoting violence or misogyny, though they've maintained their music reflects their community's reality.
