Banda Apocalipse 7 formed in Fortaleza, Brazil in 1993, with Paulão Avelino as vocalist. They played Christian rock with heavy metal and gospel elements, working through early financial and studio access issues.
Their 2001 album "O Fim Vem" gave them wider recognition, with the title track becoming a hit. The song "Vem Louvar" and "Vou Dando Gloria" also became part of their set as they toured more.
Some in the Christian community criticized their approach, creating division even as their music reached both believers and others. They kept performing despite this tension.
