Banda Atari formed in São Paulo in 2010 with Fernando Anitelli on vocals, guitarists Pedro Marighella and Pedro Santiago, bassist Marcelo Lyra, and drummer Rafael Rocha. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2012 with songs like "Até Mais" and "Tão Linda" that got them noticed around Brazil.
In 2015 they released "Fênix," which included "Como Quiser." That song became a chart-topper and one of their most recognizable tracks. They've put out several albums since then, including "Disco," "Quase," and "Jardim," working with pop, rock, and electronic sounds while sometimes bringing in funk and soul elements.
Anitelli faced plagiarism accusations in 2013 that the band denied. The current lineup still includes Marighella, Santiago, and Lyra alongside Anitelli.
