Banda Augge formed in the late 1990s with four musicians named Augusto: Alexandre on vocals, Felipe on bass, Matheus on drums, and Rafael on guitar. They came together through Brazilian Pentecostal circles, making music that drew from both faith and rock.
Their early EP "Submisso a Você" gave them a national profile in evangelical music around 1999. The song connected with listeners, though the band's approach sometimes drew criticism from more conservative quarters. They kept recording, putting out albums like "Em Teu Altar" in 2002 and "Fortaleza" in 2005.
Later releases included "Louvor e Adoração" in 2008 and "Salmos" in 2011. Their catalog also has songs like "Pedalando" and "Chumbo No Cartucho." The band's music mixed traditional hymns with rock elements, and they occasionally addressed social themes that sparked discussion within church communities.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
