Banda Aventura came out of Salvador, Bahia in the mid-1990s, a time when axé music was having a moment. The band featured vocalists Márcia Freire and Netinho, and their live album from 1997, 'Ao Vivo em Salvador,' was a big deal for them. Their song 'Como Uma Águia' became a kind of anthem, the sort of track that gets played at parties and festivals and just sticks around.
Netinho left the group in 2003, but Márcia Freire stayed on as the lead singer. The band kept going with other musicians, putting out records like 'Aventura e Emoção' in 2003 and 'Aventura 20 Anos' in 2015. They were part of that wave of axé bands that mixed samba rhythms with pop, music made for dancing.
