Banda AZ formed in Vitória, Espírito Santo in 1985 with Assis Valente on vocals and guitar, Zezinho Corrêa on guitar, Paulinho Pedrosa on keyboards, Fraga on bass, and Juraci on drums. They released their debut album in 1988, which included the song "Domingo de Manhã."
That song became their most recognizable track. They put out several more albums through the 1990s and early 2000s, including "Zona Sul" in 1990, "Banda AZ III" in 1992, and "Vida Real" in 2002. In 2006, they released a collaborative album with the group Conexão Nordestina called "D.O.C.E. Encontro."
