Banda Azul formed in Minas Gerais in 1998 with vocalist Rodrigo Ferreira, guitarist Jeferson Júnior, bassist Rodrigo Andrade, and drummer Thiago Gondi. Their debut album 'Espelho Nos Olhos' came out in 2002, and the title track became a hit in Brazil.
They released several albums through the 2000s, including 'Nosso Tempo É Agora' in 2004 and 'É Só o Começo' in 2006. Songs like 'Foi Por Você' and 'Baião Eletrônico' show their mix of Brazilian rhythms with pop and rock.
The band saw lineup changes over time. Jeferson Júnior left in 2015, followed by Rodrigo Andrade in 2018. They've continued with new members, including guitarist Marcelo dos Santos and bassist Rodrigo Paiva, alongside original members Ferreira and Gondi.
