Banda Brothers do Reggae came together in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s, when a group of friends who shared a taste for reggae decided to form a band. They started out playing local gigs as Brothers before settling on the longer name.
Their 2003 debut album "Amor Infinito" gave them their breakthrough. The title track became their signature song, a reggae tune about love that found an audience across Brazil. The band's lineup included Alexandre Carlo on vocals and guitar, Dennis Nogueira on percussion, Marcão on bass, Neilton on keyboards, and Marcelinho on drums.
Their sound mixed reggae with Brazilian rhythms like samba, and their lyrics often touched on love and everyday life. They built a following through that first album and the steady work that followed.
