Banda Capiro

Banda Capiro formed in Guadalajara, Jalisco in 2007, led by Jorge Capiro. They built a following playing traditional Mexican rhythms, with their 2010 debut album 'Todas las Noches' bringing them wider attention. The title track from that album, along with songs like 'Ajenos' and 'Aunque Me Digas Adios,' became staples in their set.

Jorge Capiro's lyrics often dealt with love and loss, giving the band's music a melancholic quality that stood out in the regional Mexican scene. Their sound mixed traditional banda instrumentation with more contemporary arrangements, though they never strayed far from their roots. They toured throughout Mexico, developing a reputation for their live shows.

In 2014, the band faced a legal dispute over music rights that caused a temporary hiatus. They returned to recording and performing afterward, with Jorge Capiro remaining the consistent presence through various lineup changes. The group included musicians like Chuy Salazar on drums and Edgar 'El Chino' Valencia on bass in their later configuration.

Their later albums included 'La Vida Es Un Sueño' in 2013 and 'El Último Adiós' in 2016. Songs like 'Cama y Mesa' and 'Caricias Vacias' continued in the same emotional vein as their earlier work, maintaining their particular sound without dramatic reinvention.
