Banda Chicana formed in Monterrey, Nuevo León in the 1990s, with vocalists Alfredo Ramírez and Hernán Hernández among the original members. Their debut album 'Para Siempre' came out in 1997 and included 'Vou Amar Você,' which became their most recognizable song. They toured Mexico, the United States, and South America.
In 2003, Hernán Hernández died in a car accident. Three years later, Alfredo Ramírez was arrested on drug possession charges. Ramírez eventually left the band in 2014 to work on solo material. Other musicians like Jorge Medina, Javier Medina, and Arturo Mendoza have been part of the group.
Their albums include 'Amor de Mis Amores' from 2002 and 'El Poder de Mi Sentimiento' from 2008. Another track, 'Te Amo Demais,' appears among their popular songs.
