Banda C.H.M formed in 1999 in Cascavel, Paraná, with brothers André, Juliano, and Valnei Costa alongside cousins Sérgio and Diego Bervian. They started playing in a small town, mixing sertanejo rhythms with pop and rock touches. Their early years were lean, with money tight and recognition slow to come.
Things turned around in 2003 when 'Espinhos' became a national hit. That song, along with others like 'Santidade' and 'Liberdade de Expressão,' helped them reach a wider audience. They released albums like 'Muito Mais Que Amor' in 2004 and 'Louco Por Você' in 2006.
In 2010, vocalist Valnei Costa was seriously injured in a car accident. The band's lineup has shifted over time, with members coming and going since those original five. They've kept recording, with 'Essência Sertaneja' coming out in 2009.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
