Banda Cinc formed in Fortaleza in the early 2000s, with Rafael Silva on vocals. They started playing small venues around the city, working with a mix of axé and sertanejo styles. Their song 'Quero Te Encontrar' became popular enough to give its name to their debut album in 2005.
That album's title track, 'Quero Te Encontrar,' got some radio play and helped them find an audience. They put out another album called 'Meu Coração É Seu' after that. The lineup has included drummer Humberto Filho and bassist Alan Pinheiro alongside Silva.
They've done some work with other Brazilian artists like Xande de Pilares and Gusttavo Lima. In 2010, there was some talk about their song 'Não Quero Mais' and plagiarism claims, which the band denied.
