Banda D5 formed in Brasília in 2011, with Filipe Campos on vocals and guitar. Their 2015 single 'Amanhã' became a national hit, pulling them out of the local scene and into wider recognition. The band's lineup includes Gabriel Santana on guitar, Igor Prado on drums, Pedro Campos on bass, and Ronaldo Lima on keyboards.

They've put out five studio albums, starting with 'Amanhã' in 2016 and most recently 'Passaporte' in 2023. Their songs, like 'Tempo Em Tempo' and 'Minhas Lágrimas,' often work through themes of love and personal struggle with straightforward pop-rock arrangements. The music leans on catchy melodies and earnest lyrics rather than complex production.

In 2018, they faced plagiarism accusations over the song 'Luz do Mundo,' which they denied and eventually settled. They've also drawn some criticism for mixing political views into their work, though that hasn't slowed their output. The band keeps writing and recording, sticking to the kind of direct, melodic songs that first connected with listeners.
