Banda DAF formed in Goiânia in 2000 around vocalist and guitarist Décio Rocha. They've built their music from the landscape of Brazil's cerrado region, which gives their work a particular sense of place.
Their 2012 single 'Cerrado' brought them wider attention, partly because its lyrics touched on environmental issues in that region. It's one of several songs, like 'Água' and 'Bicho Humano', that feel rooted in that specific terrain.
They've released albums like 'Cerrado' in 2012, 'Riacho Fundo' in 2014, and 'Jardim do Cerrado' in 2017. The current lineup still includes Décio Rocha and guitarist Leo Nett.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
