Banda DDC formed in 1994 in Fortaleza, Brazil, with Solange Almeida and Dany Bananinha on vocals, Dedé Brasil on guitar, and Neto Bahia on bass. They played local bars and clubs for years before their 2005 single "Ainda Espero" broke through nationally. That song, along with tracks like "Antes do Fim" and "Feridas," helped establish their presence in Brazilian music.
They released several albums in the mid-2000s, including their self-titled debut in 2005, "Lágrimas de Alegria" in 2006, and "Deixa a Vida Me Levar" in 2007. In 2012, Solange Almeida left the band, and Chiclete joined as vocalist. The group has faced some legal disputes over copyright issues in recent years.
