Banda December formed in the mid-1990s in Salvador, Brazil, when vocalist Nando Reis and guitarist Ricardo Dias met. They took their name from the Portuguese word for December. Early on, they played small venues and local festivals while developing their sound.
In 2006, their album "Navio Pirata" included the song "Oceana II," which became their most recognizable track. Other songs like "Como Se Fosse" and "Sinais" also appeared in their catalog. They followed with albums like "Flores e Máquinas" in 2009 and "Enquanto o Dia Não Vem" in 2013.
Around 2010, the band faced plagiarism allegations that they denied. They continued working through that period, maintaining a focus on their music rather than the surrounding noise.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
