Banda Djow formed in Florianópolis, Brazil in the late 1990s, with Beto Stodieck on vocals. Their song 'Ilha da Magia' became something of an anthem for the island city. They put out albums like 'Djow' in 1999, 'Ponto de Partida' in 2002, and 'Ilha da Magia' in 2005.
Other members included Renato Oliveira on guitar, Rodrigo Mattos on bass, Guga Andrade on drums, and Ricardo Dreher on percussion. Their sound mixed samba and reggae with some axé. They had other songs like 'Harmonia' and 'Mãe Quero Ser Músico'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
