Banda Erro Certo formed in Curitiba in 1992, with Ivan Cavalcanti on vocals and guitar, Eder Araújo on bass, and Serginho on drums. They started playing local bars and clubs, building a following with a straightforward rock sound. In 1999, their album 'Quero Ser Seu Amor' gave them a national hit with the title track. The song's simple, catchy rock arrangement connected with listeners across Brazil.
Their lyrics sometimes touched on social and political topics, which brought them both fans and critics. In 2003, they had a dispute with the Brazilian Football Confederation over the unauthorized use of their song 'Eu Sou Brasileiro' in a TV ad. The band kept playing shows with the same basic lineup, maintaining a loyal audience through the years.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
