A Brazilian band that has kept Bahian carnival energy alive since 1984.
For the early sound, 'Me Abraça' captures that original axé energy. Later, 'Toda Linda' shows how they kept going after Ivete Sangalo's departure.
When Banda Eva formed in Salvador in 1984, they helped define the sound of Bahian axé music. Songs like 'Me Abraça' and 'Carro Velho' from their early years became dance-floor staples. Even after Ivete Sangalo left in 1993, tracks such as 'Toda Linda' kept their presence strong on Brazilian radio and at festivals.
The band started with their self-titled album 'Eva' in 1985. They continued through lineup changes, releasing albums like 'Beleza Rara' in 1996 and 'Na Veia' in 2000. More than twenty studio albums later, they're still performing with that same Bahian pulse.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
