Banda Fixer

Banda Fixer formed in São Paulo in 1996 as a Brazilian rock trio. The band includes Anderson Ricardo on vocals and guitar, Alexandre Simoni on bass, and Leonardo dos Santos on drums. They put out their first album in 1999, but it was their 2002 release 'Além Das Rosas' that really connected with listeners. That album's title track became their most recognizable song, a straightforward rock ballad about heartbreak that still gets played on Brazilian radio.

Their sound is built on straightforward rock arrangements with Ricardo's raspy voice up front. Songs like 'Dessa Vez' and 'O Reflexo' follow a similar template of clean guitar lines and direct lyrics about relationships. They've released six studio albums through 2017, working at a steady pace without much flash or dramatic reinvention.

In the early 2000s, some critics dismissed them as derivative, and around 2010 there were questions about a songwriting dispute that was eventually dismissed. These things never really defined their career, which has mostly been about maintaining a consistent presence in Brazil's rock scene.
