Banda GARD formed in 2010 in Ceará, Brazil, with six members including Iohannes Neto on lead vocals, Jardel Filho on backing vocals and percussion, Icaro Aguiar on backing vocals and guitar, Kita on bass, Danielzim on accordion, and Ricardo 10 Dedos on keyboard. They play a mix of forró, xote, and arrocha.
Their 2012 album Volte gave them their breakthrough with the title track. They followed it with De Zero a Dez in 2014, which had songs like "Sinto Saudade" and "Amor ou Paixão." Later albums included Ao Vivo em Fortaleza in 2016, Um Novo Tempo in 2018, and 10 Anos de História in 2020.
In 2015, there were plagiarism allegations about "Volte," which the band denied. Their accordionist Danielzim died in 2020.
