Banda Herus formed in 2004 in Ojocaliente, Zacatecas, with Sergio Lizárraga on vocals and accordion. They started playing live shows around their hometown before getting a record deal in 2009. Their debut album 'A Las Tres De La Mañana' included the song 'Perdoa,' which became their breakout hit.
That track, along with others like 'Sem Seu Amor Não Dá,' helped them build a following in Mexico's banda scene. They've released several albums since, including 'En Vivo Desde Aztlán' and 'La Historia Continúa.' The band includes Sergio's brother Armando on guitar, along with Ramón Maldonado on trumpet, Isaac Lizárraga on tuba, and Rodolfo Lizárraga on bass.
In 2015, some critics accused their music of glorifying drug trafficking, which the band denied. They said their songs reflected life in their hometown rather than promoting anything. They've kept performing since then.
