Banda HM6 formed in São Paulo in 2012, a Christian music group whose name comes from Hebrew and Greek words meaning 'God's Blessing.' Their early lineup included Marcelo Bastos on vocals and guitar, Michael Wesley on bass, Hugo Leonardo on keyboards, and David Di-Souza on drums. They started playing in local churches and small venues before their music began spreading online.
In 2014 they released their debut album 'Amor de Deus,' which included the title track that became popular among Christian listeners in Brazil. Their songs like 'Que Amor É Esse' and 'Sem Ti Não Dá Pra Viver' reflect their straightforward approach to faith-based music, blending traditional and contemporary styles without much fuss.
Over time the band added other musicians including Daniel Castro on guitar, Lucas Esteves on keyboards, and Thiago Borelli on drums. They've released several albums since that first one, including 'Ainda Mais Forte' in 2016 and 'Deus No Controle' in 2018. Their lyrics sometimes drew questions from religious authorities, but they kept making music that spoke to their beliefs.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
