Banda Indústria Musical formed in São Paulo in 1998 with three members: André Limão on vocals, Daniel Iasbeck on guitar, and Renato Fernandes on drums. They worked through some early financial and label difficulties while building a following with live shows.
Their 2003 album 'Indústria Musical' brought them mainstream attention in Brazil. The song 'Não Se Vá' became particularly popular, connecting with listeners across the country. They followed that with two more albums, 'Realidade' in 2005 and 'O Mundo Também É Nosso' in 2007.
Their lyrics sometimes addressed social and political topics, which drew criticism from some quarters. A music video for their song 'Falar a Verdade' faced censorship accusations at one point, sparking some debate about expression.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
