Banda Iriê

Banda Iriê started in Salvador, Brazil, in 2005, formed by friends who liked reggae and wanted to use their music to lift up their community. The name comes from a Tupi word for 'river,' which fits their sound, a mix of reggae with samba, axé, and Brazilian pop. Their songs, like 'Luz do Alto' and 'Mas Tem Fé,' often touch on love, unity, and social issues in a straightforward way.

In 2013, 'Luz do Alto' became a hit across Brazil, giving the band a wider audience. They've put out albums such as 'O Som do Mar' in 2011 and 'Reggae de Raiz' in 2013, keeping their roots in reggae while adding local flavors. Tracks like 'Nativas' and 'Reggae Todo Dia' show their steady, groove-focused approach.

The group includes Dudu Moreira on vocals, Juba on bass, Ferrugem on drums, Cris Gomes on guitar, and Bruno Mota on keyboard. They've kept playing and recording, with songs like 'Patria' and 'Vamos Passear de Bicicleta' reflecting their consistent themes.
