Banda Jota is a Brazilian band that formed in the mid-1990s. Their debut album came out in 1996 and included the song "(A)braços," which became their most recognizable track.
That first album established their presence, and they followed it with Na Moral in 1998 and Oxigênio in 2000. The band's lineup included Jota Quest on vocals, Marco Túlio on guitar, Márcio Buzelin on bass, Paulinho Fonseca on drums, and Rogério Flausino on keyboards.
In 2006, Banda Jota dealt with some public criticism over copyright questions, but they continued working afterward. They put out more albums like Discotecagem Pop Variada in 2002 and Até Onde Vai in 2005.
