Banda Jovem Samba

Banda Jovem Samba came together in Rio de Janeiro around the early 2000s, starting from a neighborhood samba school where a few young musicians began playing together. They worked with producer Mario Adnet early on, who helped them develop their approach to the music.

Their debut album arrived in 2006, and the single "Vou Seguindo" became their breakout track. The song's straightforward rhythm and lyrics about keeping on resonated with listeners across Brazil.

Some traditional samba listeners criticized the band for mixing in elements from other genres like funk, but they kept playing their way. They built their audience through local festivals and street performances in Rio.
