In 2009, Mateus Sousa was arrested for illegal firearms possession, an incident that brought significant public scrutiny. The band continued releasing albums like 'Superação' in 2011 and 'Ressurgir' in 2013, but they also faced criticism for provocative lyrics and stage behavior. Guitarist Vinicius Leite left the group in 2016 after a public disagreement with the Sousa brothers.
Mateus and Kelvin kept performing as Banda M&K with new members, including guitarist Felipe Souza and backing vocalist Leozinho. They've put out more albums like 'Evocação' in 2015 and 'A Gente Fez Amor' in 2017, maintaining a presence in Brazilian music despite various internal and external challenges.
