Banda Militar

Banda Militar formed in 1941 under Maestro Alceu Bocchino, starting with 35 musicians and eventually growing to about 80. They're known for military marches and patriotic songs, including 'Canção da Aviação Embarcada,' which became something of an unofficial anthem for naval aviators.

Their repertoire includes pieces like 'Marcha de Ponta Grossa' and 'Marcha Mi Bandera,' straightforward military band music that's been part of Brazilian ceremonies for decades. The group worked with Brazilian artists like Chico Buarque at times, though mostly they've stuck to their core material.

They've maintained a fairly consistent presence since, playing the kind of music you'd expect from a military ensemble without much fuss about evolving their sound.
