Banda Minoria Absoluta came together in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s. They worked out their sound in small rehearsal spaces, playing local shows while dealing with the usual financial strains of getting a band off the ground. Their big break came in 2004 with the single "Acorda Pra Vida," a track that caught on nationally. The song's success was complicated by accusations of plagiarism from another group, which the band denied.
Led by vocalist Celso Taioli, known as Celso TR, the group's lineup has included guitarist Kleiton "Klei" Henrique, bassist Bruno "Negro" Duarte, and drummer Leandro "Léo" Alves. Their debut album was called "Fome de Música," and they followed it with records like "No Ar" and "Muito Além." Other songs in their catalog include "Agora Eu Quero Sorrir" and "Eu Vou Te Esquecer."
