Archive material and source history
Banda Radio Ativo formed in 1998 around the duo of Carlos Eduardo "Cadu" Gomes and Fábio Henrique "Fabinho" de Souza, who came from Patrocínio Paulista. They started playing sertanejo, a Brazilian country style, and put out their first album "Caminhos Cruzados" in 2000.
Their song "Fixaçã" became a national hit and gave its name to their 2002 album. They followed it with records like "A Força da Paixão" in 2004 and "Acústico" in 2007. The band's lineup included Marcelinho de Oliveira on bass, Leozinho Costa on drums, and Tio Bira on accordion and keyboards.
They had a plagiarism accusation in 2008 that was later dismissed. Banda Radio Ativo kept playing through that, and songs like "Um heroi" stayed in their set.
