Banda Radioativa started in 2000 with Pedro Lucas on vocals and guitar, Felipe Ioschpe on guitar, Diego Oliveira on bass, and Yuri Nishida on drums. They came out of Brazil's early 2000s underground, playing open mics and self-releasing a debut EP in 2003 after struggling to find gigs. Their sound had a raw energy that caught on locally.
Their 2006 debut album 'O Grande Truque' included the title track, which got attention for lyrics about political deception. That song and others like 'Tudo O Que Eu Queria Ser' and 'Acredite' built a following despite some criticism for being too political. They kept putting out albums like 'Despertar' in 2009 and 'Amor e Outras Drogas' in 2013.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
